I can't seem to send email outside work, so I'm cut off from the world during the day. Sorry If I haven't replied to anyone.

Posted some more songs. Found yet another great Jimmy Eat World song. This one is off the Never Been Kissed soundtrack and immediately became on of my favorites when I heard it. I also posted A-Ha's The Sun Always Shines on TV, just because it's an 80's classic. The last one is Psychedelic Fur's Here Comes Cowboy. I never heard this song before Saturday. I was at our good friends Todd and Julia's Christmas party. It started as a conversation with Todd about Whiskey. Todd insisted that I try an Irish blend he had. I must admit, it was very good. It had a scotch quality to it, but it didn't hit as hard as traditional scotches. He began to fill my cup. Now, I wasn't sitting there with a traditional whiskey glass. No, I had a full Biggie-Size Ice Palace beer cup. Todd had proceeded to fill most of it with this new found whiskey. Not wanting to insult the man in his own house, I proceeded to consume its contents. Twenty minutes later, I couldn't count the number of fingers on one hand. I figured I was easily the most fucked up person in the house. I stumbled over Tim McCreary and realized that I wasn't even close. So anyway, Todd has set up his laptop to play MP3's all night. This song came on and I was completely captivated by it. I knew Richard Butler from Love Spit Love used to be the Furs' singer and had come across the band while stealing my sister's tapes when I was in middle school. Anyway, yes, I really liked the song, so I downloaded it and I posted it for you all

I finally began the process of recovering my cell phone. I was smart enough to get insurance on it, so I called up Verizon to get a replacement. They were very sympathetic to my loss, but informed me that I needed to file a police report to complete my claim. A police report? I think the Tampa police department has a lot more important things to do than listen to how I lost my cell phone. But hey, I gotta do it, so I called. I immediately got their automated answering service. "Press one if you are calling to report a lost cellular telephone". I hung up immediately and just started cracking up. I never knew the wireless industry had such a good working relationship with our nation's police forces.
I called back and eventually got an officer.

Officer: So where exactly did you lose your phone?
Me: (Trying not to explode with laughter) Well, I don't really know. If I did, then we wouldn't be having this conversation.
Officer: Just give me a street intersection of where you may have had it last
Me: Well, I was at Chatterbox, so I guess Swann and Howard
Officer: Why did you wait so long to report this?
Me: Ummm, I was kinda busy, and I was trying to find it before I made a claim. Why is that so important?
Officer: I'll ask the questions
Tell him. Tell him the liberator who destoyed my property has realigned my perception
Officer: Have you recently made enemies with someone who might want to seperate you from your property?
Reject the basic assumption of civilization, espicially the importance of material posessions
Me: What?
Officer: Son, this is serious.
Me: Look, no one takes this more serious than me! That cell phone was my life, OK? I loved every digitally stored number in that thing! That was not just a phone that got lost, It was ME!! I would like thank the Academy...
Officer: Is this not a good time for you?
Just tell him you fuckin' did it. Tell him you just thew it away. That's what he want's to hear.
Me: Wait, are you telling me that I'm a suspect?
Officer:
No, no. I may need to talk to you a little further so how about you just lettin' me know if you're gonna leave town, OK?
Me: Ok.

Actually, it was quite a painless process. I gave the insurace agent the police report number and they sent me a new phone the next day. I still have my same number, so you all can call my cell again.

Got a lot of good responses for Jimmy Eat World's - The Middle (lyrics). I caught wind of this band a little while back. They are fast becoming my favorite. They played 97X's Next Big Thing in Clearwater today. Got there a little late, had to sell Eric's ticket outside because he got called in for surgery. I drug Rob through the front gate as Jimmy Eat World, whose initials are JEW, was just starting. I don't think any of them are really Jewish, its probably a coincidence. Most of the songs they played were off their new CD, but they did play one B-Side - No Sensitivity, which absolutely blew me away. I downloaded it when I got back and have been listening to it ever since. It's now a song of whenever the hell I feel like changing it. Stuck around for Sum 41 which were a lot of fun, then headed back to Tampa. It was a good time, but could have been better if we planned it more. We should have gotten more people to go, gotten there earlier, gotten completely trashed. Well, there's always next year.

I also posted EMF's Girl of an Age because I've been trying to get this song for a while. Yes, they're the "Unbelievable" band.
