Direct from the You probably didn't hear it here first Dept. NBC is making a move about Jessica Lynch. Ok, I'm not saying that she didn't go through a tremendous ordeal, I just want to point out some things that were overlooked in the media orgy surrounding her rescue.

1. She (and her unit) messed up and got caught.
2. The Iraqi's hospitalized and treated her instead of executing her like the others.
3. Others risked their lives to save her.

Forget about the two Apache pilots that were shot down attacking the Republican Guard, held in Bagdad, and undoubtedly tortured. So if I screw up, and people have to risk their lives to bail me out, I'm a hero? Not really, so why is NBC making a movie about her? It's easy. She's a sweet young pretty white girl. I don't think many people would want to watch a story about the big fat black girl that was captured. The Apache pilots might have been an interesting story, but they're true soldiers. They knew the risks. Not like poor Jessica.

I'm sure NBC won't over dramatize it.

I inspire acts of lawlessness You know how on some streets the lights are times so that when the one you're at turns green, then the next turns green just as you get there? Pretty convenent, eh? I'm driving north on Ashley St. in downtown Tampa. My light turns green, so I go, because that what you're supposed to do. As I'm approaching the next light, I don't bother to slow down, because of the timing thing I just told you about. So I fly through the intersection. No green light. Oops. Then I realized that this whole street light timing thing only works one way, and Ashley is set up so the lights change as you're going Southbound. The funny thing was that three or four cars behind me followed me through the red light. Two possiblities here. One, the light could have changed right after I went through, or Two (and more probable): I am a natural born leader and that people will follow me no matter what I do. They saw my boldness and decided that I was somebody that could inspire them. That got me thinking. Maybe I should be more careful. I don't think I can handle this kind of pressure. I didn't ask for this!

Another Friendly Tip I got an email last night from "Microsoft" with a "security patch" that supposedly fixes IE, Outlook Express, and Outlook. Although all the links in the email went to Microsoft, the sender was not @microsoft.com. If you get this email, DON'T run the attachment. MS doesn't distribute updates through email. I think it may be somebody up to no good.
