big bucks big bucks no brains no brains STOP!

B and I caught Whammy!, The ALL NEW Press Your Luck. Ah yes, my all time favorite game show of 1983 is back. (Note: Any game show with funny little cartoons is a definite favorite to an 8 year old)

This time around, they replaced the funny little whammy cartoons with funny little whammy animated computer graphics (Note: Any game show with funny little animated computer graphics is a definite favorite to a 30 year old).

As we watched, contestant somebody landed on the big bucks. In order to win the big bucks, she had to answer the big bucks question.

Here is comes....

"What mountain peak..."

"is the highest..."

"in the whole world?"

Contestant's eyes gloss over.

"Ummm, Mount Olympus?" (yes, that was the actual answer).

"Contestant", replied the host, "For three thousand dollars, Do you really want to give such a stupid answer? Oh my God, my life has come down to refereeing retards on some obscure cable network. Damn it all!" (not the actual response, but close).

Oh well, Jeopardy it isn't

So America crowned its latest Idol tonight. You know, I've been following this season very closely since 9:45 and I'm not trying to brag here, but I knew the old guy who's not really old but is just greying early guy would win. AI know what the hell they're doing. They know who their target audience is. They're going for the senior vote. Why else would they have raided that 80's has been retirement home and pulled Prince and Dionne Warwick off the bingo team to come sing?
